People are becoming more and more innovative with the cakes they bake, and one of the most popular cakes is the galaxy cake. Everyone is going crazy over the colorful intergalactic wonder.

So, today I’m going to give you a DIY galaxy frosting recipe, which is fool-proof, and people will be left in awe of your skills.

Make the Buttercream Frosting

The kind of frosting you want to make depends on your personal preferences, but since I personally love working with regular buttercream, that’s what I’m going to talk about. You may also use Swiss meringue buttercream. They would work very well with this recipe too.

Buttercream Frosting

For the buttercream, all you have to do is cream the butter with icing sugar using an electric mixer. You could do it by hand, but it will take you a very long time to get your desired consistency. Make sure you use icing sugar as regular sugar will not dissolve with the butter.

Mix the Colors

Ideally, for galaxy frosting, it is best if you use four or more colors to dye your buttercream. Blue, pink, purple, and black are usually the most common ones we go for. You can choose others too if you want.

Mix the Colors

Divide the frosting into four or more sections depending on the number of colors you want. Make sure the one you leave for black is smaller than the others; black tends to take over the others.

Once you are done mixing the color into the different sections, you have to form the galaxy frosting. For this, take a separate bowl and add in the colored frosting; mix in slowly until you have reached your desired shape combination.

Lastly, you have to transfer it into a piping bag. There you have it, folks! The easiest DIY galaxy frosting recipe!
